OUR WORK

At Butterfly Kingdom our purpose is to benefit women
butterfly producers in rural areas of Costa Rica through the
purchase of pupae, in order to support them in the growth of their
entrepreneurships and therefore their family finances.
We work with a network of providers made up of a large group
of butterfly breeding farms specialized in the production of pupae of
first quality for export.

Pupae Rearing Operations

Costa Rica has approximately a network of 100 butterfly breeding farms distributed in regions with microclimates and diverse vegetation.
We carefully select those that work with processes of the best quality, variety and that have all the permits required by Costa Rican legislation.
We are in constant communication, exchanging knowledge to improve and produce new species in order to be a more competitive option in the international market.

Social Commitment

Butterfly Kingdom is a bio-commercial project founded and integrated mostly by women who share interests and concerns for the sustainable economic development of vulnerable groups (women) in rural communities.
In each export, 50% of the pupae shipped come from zoocriders worked by women legally organized in associations with a high standard of quality in their product.
